Inauguration of 132/33kv Sarupathar Substation of Assam under NERPSIP
Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himant Biswa Sarma has inaugurated newly constructed 132/33kv, 2X 31.5MVA Sarupathar substation of Assam State on 09.12.2022. The substation has been constructed under NERPSIP scheme of Assam State. This substation is feeding quality power nearby Golaghat and Sarupathar area
The scheme is being implemented through POWERGRID, in association with six beneficiary North Eastern states namely, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. The main objective of the project is Government of India’s commitment for the total economic development of North Eastern Region and to strengthen the Intra-State Transmission & Distribution Infrastructure in the North East region. NER States' connectivity to the upcoming load centers, and thus extend the benefits of the grid connected power to all categories of consumers in North Eastern region.
