Dedication of 400 KV DC Wardha - Aurangabad Line by POWERGRID
This transmission system with a power transfer capacity of 2 x 630 MW is envisaged for power transfer from generation projects in the Eastern Part to a major load center in the central/western part for transmission strengthening in the EastWest corridor.
The transmission line from Wardha to Aurangabad and 400 KV Bay extensions at Wardha and Aurangabad Substations. The transmission line passes through Wardha, Yavatmal, Washim, Buldhana, Jalna & Aurangabad districts.
Initially, this line is commissioned at 400 kV Voltage level and the same shall be upgraded to 1200 kV Voltage level. Construction of this line has been done through transmission towers designed to cater 1200 kV Voltage (1st of its kind in the World).
